04 - Step-by-step migration

  1. Order suitable webhosting. We recommend Hosting Basic (for smaller websites) or Easy Hosting Linux (for larger websites).
  2. Request a migration token via an authorized request from customer administration.
  3. Log in to your WordPress administrator account. You must have full administrator access to be able to install the plugin.
  4. Install the migration plugin.
 
  1. Click on the FORPSI WP Migration Tool.
  2. Enter the migration token you received from us.

  1. After that, the PHP version, database, plugins and WordPress core will be checked.

  1. In the next step, you will select the folders and files you want to transfer (we recommend selecting everything except for any backups performed by plugins like duplicator, updraft, all in one migration...).
 
  1. You then have the option to put WordPress into maintenance mode (during the migration process). This is recommended if you are running an e-shop. Your website will be shut down during the migration so that no orders can be placed during the migration, which could be lost during the migration. If you do not wish to shut down your e-shop and want to keep the orders made during the migration, please contact us and we will perform the assisted migration manually.
  1. The migration process is started. The migration continues at this stage even if the browser is closed. 
    • Therefore, we do not recommend making any modifications to the site. They will no longer be included in the migration and will be lost.
    • If after the migration is complete you decide that you need to make any adjustments, you must run the migration again to keep them on our company's webhosting.
  2. Once the website content is copied, it is uploaded (saved) to the ordered and prepared web hosting.
  1. The last step is a confirmation of successful migration. Here you can disable or leave the maintenance mode, or perform the migration again.
 
  1. Domain redirection and website launch.
      • If you have a domain registered with us, we will agree with you on a specific time for DNS switch. If you don't have a domain with us, we will help you with the transfer or provide you with information to redirect the domain.
  2. Note: If you do not transfer your domain to us, you will lose the right to receive a free SSL certificate. In this case you need to set up one of the paid SSL certificates.
